Atsushi Ushio

Born in Shimane Prefecture in 1958

Graduated from the Department of Oil Painting at Tama Art University in 1984

Studied abroad at the University of Applied Arts Vienna from 1984 to 1988, studying under Wolfgang Hutter

Received the Special Prize at the Taro Okamoto Award for Contemporary Art in 2021

Works are included in the collections of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Library of Congress, and other institutions

Mainly produces oil paintings and copperplate prints, and also designs many book covers.
