Etsuko Kanaida
Born in Gunma Prefecture.
Completed a master's course at the University of Tsukuba Graduate School.
Received an Excellence Award at the 1982 International Miniature Print Biennale.
Exhibited at the CWAJ Contemporary Print Exhibition and other print exhibitions in Japan and abroad, winning awards.
Literary illustrated books include "Nekomachi" by Hagiwara Sakutarō, "Meido" by Uchida Hyakken, and "Ten Nights of Dreams" by Natsume Soseki, published by Parolsha (later republished by Heibonsha), "Yakuyoke Shishu" by Ibuse Masuji, published by Nagasaki Publishing, and "Ehon no Haru" by Izumi Kyoka, published by Asahi Publishing.
As a work for which he designed the cover illustrations, "Ningyo no Tabidachi" (The Doll's Journey) by Hasegawa Setsuko (Fukuinkan Shoten) won the 18th Akaitori Illustration Award and the Jury Encouragement Award at the 38th Bookbinding and Bookbinding Competition.
