Long ago, people would trace the shadows of people cast by candle flames onto the walls, imprinting the images on them.
Even if the actual shadows disappear, the images left on the walls are fixed as immortal.
By reviving the abandoned fragments of the past as candles, they continue to exist as remnants of memory, like the stones and plants that survived the past world, but when lit, they become a warm liquid and lose their shape like an illusion. The shadows cast by the flames confuse people. They are like stars sparkling in the sky, visible to the eye but elusive.
Even the smallest object, when illuminated, can cast a shadow larger than life, sometimes appearing like a ghost, but as soon as the fire goes out, everything disappears into mist.
Shadows are a theater of illusions.
